Crossing 51 kms of Lake Ontario’s Waters from Niagara on the Lake to Marilyn Bell Park from August 11th to 12th, Jason Kloss aims to raise funds, and awareness for the Centre for Addition and Mental Health.
Originally born and raised in the Clinton area, this is not his first journey across a Great Lake. In 2011 Kloss chartered a path across Lake Huron, swimming 65kms from Port Sanilac Michigan to Grand Bend in just over 26 hours. The swim was on the 20th anniversary of his grandfather’s same journey.
Kloss says that at the time, another swim would have been out of the question,
He says that the swim is close to his heart, as someone that he knows died by suicide less than two years ago.
Raising awareness and money for mental health services is topical, says Kloss,
At the end of the day, Kloss is happy if his swim simply starts a conversation,
To get involved, and sponsor the swim for Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, you can find head on over to www.kloss2cross.com, or you can follow the journey on Facebook or Instagram at Kloss2Cross. Every $20 donation will enter you into a raffle to win a trip to Las Vegas, and it goes to a good cause.
