Art and culture is a way of recording our past in a way that’s different than the written word.
With that in mind, you’re being invited to check out a free art exhibition coming to Bayfield Town Hall on June 10th and 11th.
myFM spoke with Bayfield Centre for the Arts President Leslee Squirrel.
The Centre of the Arts will also be hosting a painting workshop on Heritage Main Street, and then down at the harbor on the main beach.
More than 120 pieces will be on display based on the book ‘Reflections of Bayfield’.
Squirrel says there is a lot to be excited about.
Squirrel says that exhibitions like this help people recognize the beauty of a location in another person’s eyes.
She adds that once you start to recognize some of the locations that people have painted throughout the years, it really begins to resonate.
Many paintings that didn’t make it into the initial publication will also be featured.
