The Huron County branch of the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run is coming up tomorrow (on Wednesday, June 7), and you can join them by running alongside them, or pulling up a chair and cheering them on.
Constable Craig Soldan, Media Relations Officer with Huron OPP says that year’s run begins at the Maitland River Community Church in Wingham, with participants being transported throughout the community to walk,
The run has raised over $74 million for the Special Olympics since it’s inception, and you can support this year’s run by cash or cheque – made payable to “Ontario Special Olympics” and dropped off the day of the event.
Constable Soldan says that the walk is a great opportunity to be able to interact with the community in a positive way,
Raising funds for a good cause is obviously the aim, but it’s also a great chance to get out in the community and get to know people, says Constable Soldan,
The shuttle leaves at 8am from the Goderich Legion, and you can cheer on the runners in your local communities in Wingham, Clinton, Blyth, and Goderich.
