Early in the evening on June 3, Lambton OPP were contacted about a swimmer that had entered the water at the Pinery, and drifted out of sight.
Many other organizations were contacted, including the Canadian and American Coast Guard, local Fire Departments, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Center.
A broadcast was sent out over marine radio, and the individual was located by a party on a personal boat, and taken to safety.
Thankfully they were wearing a lifejacket, and were safely rescued through the generosity of the marine community.
