Both Huron Perth Public Health and Lambton Public Health issued air quality advisories to the public yesterday afternoon (June 8) as a result of wildfire smoke from forest fires in northeastern Ontario and Quebec.
Those most at risk as a result of the ongoing air quality problems include children, the elderly, pregnant individuals, people with chronic health conditions, and people who work outdoors.
General advisories for everyone include staying inside when air quality is poor, drinking lots of water, closing windows and doors, and not engaging in outdoor physical activity when possible.
Poor air quality is expected to persist into the weekend.
