The South Huron Hospital Foundation’s 14th annual gala on Friday, June 2nd was a smashing success this year, as always, but this year they broke several records.
Executive Director of the Foundation Krista McCann says that the event is a great way to bring people together,
The cost of equipment and some facility upgrades in hospitals and medical centers are not covered by the ministry of health. Anything from x-ray machines, patient beds, and wheelchairs are not funded by the government.
McCann says that the numbers speak for themselves,
Although support of that volume definitely raises some eyebrows in a small community like ours, McCann says that in her experience, people are extremely generous,
McCann says the gala would not be possible without their volunteers. Around 38 people put in countless man-hours to set up the event, and help with cleanup.
