Although poor air quality throughout the area due to accumulated smoke has largely improved, should conditions once again worsen, Huron Perth Public Health are offering free N95 respirators to residents at high risk for respiratory problems.
Those at greatest risk include people with lung disease (like asthma), heart disease, older adults, people who work outdoors, children and pregnant people.
Anyone at high risk can go to HPPH’s sites in Clinton or Stratford to pick up free masks. It is recommended that individuals make use of them when the air quality health index is 7 or higher.
