If you’re looking for a way to get out of the house this summer, and enjoy some outdoor time with your kids, the Huron County Library has installed story walks at several locations throughout the county.
The library is more than a building, and they’re working to be more active in the community outside their own doors – that’s according to Jim Seale, Programming and Community Engagement Coordinator with the County of Huron.
Here in Exeter’s own McNaughton Park, you can take a stroll through the park, while also enjoying a children’s story, one page at a time. The story on selection rotates out every season, so you can go back and enjoy something new all year around.
Seale says that getting out and enjoying nature with your kids is an added benefit, but that he also finds it’s helpful to break routine every once in a while,
Reading is something that you can do anywhere, says Seale, and the story walks are a good reminder of that,
