The Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol is opening its doors to celebrate National Historic Places Days on Sunday, July 9th. from 1 to 4:30 p.m.,
Sinead Cox, Curator of Engagement and Dialogue with the museum says that alongside providing free admission, the museum will be hosting tastings of local products,
Meanwhile, at the Historic Gaol, the county’s only historic site, guests will be serenaded by live music performances.
Cox says that their collections provide a look into the rich heritage that the area has to offer,
If you haven’t been to the museum before, or have been meaning to visit again for a while, Cox says that this is the perfect time to do that,
In addition to the experiences awaiting you at the museum and gaol, National Historic Places Days will launch an exciting photo contest. From July 8th to 23rd, visitors have the chance to participate and win big. Simply capture a picture of yourself at either the museum or the gaol, and tag both the museum and the National Trust. The contest offers a grand prize of $1,000 for the winner and an equal amount for the museum.
National Historic Places Days offers an ideal occasion for returning visitors to discover something new within the museum’s collections, while also welcoming newcomers to explore the vibrant history that defines the region.
