Starting July 10th, OPP will employ a new engagement tool, letting you receive automated text messages focused mainly on encompassing post-event reports and incidents lacking suspect involvement. When you contact the OPP using an SMS-enabled device and their call falls within one of these event types, the caller will receive a text message containing their event number, and other details pertinent to the specific call type.
Upon the responding officer clearing the call, if necessary, the initial caller will receive an invitation to participate in a brief voluntary survey, offering an opportunity to provide feedback. The data gathered will aid OPP in identifying areas for improvement in their service. Messages will be available in both English and French, and recipients can easily opt out of receiving any further texts from the system.
