Becker says that the South Huron Fire Department had recently aided Bluewater in a similar incident, suggesting that both occurrences may have resulted from the combustion of stored materials.
Improperly stored hay can combust due to a variety of factors – moisture, insulation, poor air circulation, and stack configuration contribute to heat buildup within the hay, eventually leading to ignition and fire.
Conditions to fight the blaze were in the fire departments favour,
Thankfully, nobody was injured in the fire.
