Becker says that the South Huron Fire Department had recently aided Bluewater in a similar incident, suggesting that both occurrences may have resulted from the combustion of stored materials.
Improperly stored hay can combust due to a variety of factors – moisture, insulation, poor air circulation, and stack configuration contribute to heat buildup within the hay, eventually leading to ignition and fire.
