A local driver has caught serious speeding and impaired driving charges after an incident outside of Exeter on June 27th.
Just after 10am, west of Exeter on Highway 83, an OPP officer noticed a vehicle overtaking another at high speed. Concerned about public safety, the officer recorded the speed and stopped the vehicle after it turned onto Airport Line.
During the traffic stop, the officer discovered that the driver was in fact impaired, and they were arrested.
Tests at the Clinton detachment indicated that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was over double the legal limit.
They are now required to appear in court on August 21st at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich to face the charges brought against them.
