Perth County OPP are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding an attempted abduction that took place yesterday morning, just south of Line 86 on Perth Road 131 in the Township of Perth East.
At approximately 11:10 a.m. a young person was biking on Perth Road 131.
They were was flagged down by a man standing outside his vehicle and when they stopped to talk, the suspect attempted to grab them, leading to a brief struggle.
Fortunately, the young person managed to break free, and the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, heading northbound on Perth Road 131.
The individual is described as a white male in his 30-40’s, approximately 5’6″ with a heavier build, short to medium dark hair, stubble, and is said to speak with a slight accent. During the incident, he was wearing a white button-up short sleeve shirt with a black vest.
The vehicle used by the suspect is reported to be an older model turquoise car, possibly a hatchback. Notably, the rims on the driver’s side of the vehicle show signs of rusting.
The OPP is taking this incident very seriously and are actively seeking any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect and ask the community to come forward with any relevant details. Any witnesses or individuals with information related to this attempted abduction are urged to contact the Perth County OPP immediately.
