Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) is calling on local households to open their doors and hearts to international secondary students for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
AMDSB’s Homestay Host Family program offers flexible options, allowing students to stay for either 3-4 months on a short-term basis or experience the full school year in an immersive manner.
The program is not just about offering a place to stay; it’s about introducing students to local life, customs, and activities, helping them integrate into the community.
Shaun Morton, Executive Assistant of the International Education program at AMDSB, emphasized, “This program is an extraordinary chance for local families to enrich their lives by sharing their homes with international students. It’s an opportunity to bridge cultures, exchange stories, and create lasting connections.”
Becoming a host family is a straightforward process. Interested individuals can apply online via the AMDSB website’s dedicated Homestay Services page.
