A 25-year-old from London is facing a string of criminal charges following a traffic incident that took place on July 28th.
Just before 11’o’clock that morning, officers from the Huron OPP spotted a pickup truck speeding northbound in Highway 21 just outside of Goderich – they clocked in at 145 in an 80.
When the officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, they instead entered a Huckins Street business parking lot, and the driver tried to escape into the store.
When officers located the individual, they not only resisted arrest, but were also determined to be under the influence of alcohol.
On their way to the Clinton station, the suspect caused damage to police equipment and also made threats towards the officers.
As a result of this incident, charges include operation while impaired, threatening death or bodily harm, resisting arrest and mischief.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody, with a court appearance scheduled for September 11th, in Goderich.
