Perth County OPP are investigating a case of fraud that has unfolded in Mitchell over the span of a year.
This incident came to light when a local sports team, detected unusual activity surrounding one of their bank accounts. On May 22, 2023, a report was filed with the OPP, instigating the investigation.
Law enforcement revealed that over $40,000 had been siphoned from the organization’s account.
The OPP has identified Corrine McKenzie, a 37-year-old Huron East resident, as the primary suspect in this case. McKenzie has been formally charged with fraud and the legal proceedings are set to unfold at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 28, 2023.
