In a blend of culture, art, and culinary traditions, Huron County residents are being welcomed to partake in the “Tastes Like Home” community arts project.
This project aims to create a vibrant tapestry of flavors and stories by inviting locals to contribute their cherished family recipes to a community cookbook.
The project is set to kick off this fall with a series of workshops led by professional artists Bethany Ann Davidson, Pam Lobb, and Autumn Ducharme. During these workshops, participants will share the tales behind their cherished recipes and craft art pieces inspired by their culinary traditions.
These artworks will be digitized and featured alongside the recipes in the cookbook “Tastes Like Home, Around the World in Huron County,” available for purchase later this fall.
The workshops, beginning during Newcomer Welcoming Week in September, will be hosted across three Huron County Library locations: Exeter Branch, Goderich Branch, and Alice Munro Branch in Wingham. Participation is free but limited to 15 attendees per location.
