As everyone heads off to school this September, many post secondary students from our community will be moving into student housing.
But have you considered fire safety in your new home?
South Huron Fire Chief Jeremy Becker says that there are a few things that everyone should keep in mind,
One thing that Chief Becker emphasized is a common hazard for students is cooking – many are just getting comfortable with cooking for themselves, or come home late from being out and want to cook themselves food while they’re tired or otherwise impaired.
Fire Safety isn’t necessarily top of mind for everyone when they’re moving out for the first time,
When in doubt, you can always contact your local fire department! Chief Becker says that fire departments across the country are in the business of keeping their communities safe, don’t hesitate to ask them for help.
