Babarinde's performance and teaching was super engaging, with many members of the community playing along
The third annual Welcome Week is officially in the rearview mirror – a campaign aimed at newcomers in the county.
This year’s Welcome Week ran from September 8th to 17th, and included an African drumming workshop at the Exeter Farmers Market on Friday.
Babrinde Williams is a master drummer, storyteller and motivational speaker – he says that it’s especially important to him that he connects with young people,
Williams also stopped by local schools during the day, and presented to hundreds of young people,
Although it’s important for him to connect with young people, people of all ages joined in the fun at the farmers market – with young children and families, alongside retirees and students.
Exeter showed Williams the welcoming and loving atmosphere we’re known for – and there’s always more to learn. You can keep up to date with how you can welcome new friends and neighbours to the area through the local immigration partnership.
