Ontario’s political landscape is once again in flux as Ontario Minister of Labour, and MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Monte McNaughton departs from the Progressive Conservative caucus – as confirmed just this morning (Friday, Sepember 22).
Premier Doug Ford expressed gratitude for McNaughton’s contributions, following the announcement that he would be transitioning into the private sector.
This comes in the wake of the resignations of MPPs Steve Clark and Kaleed Rasheed, creating a turbulent period for Ford’s government,
McNaughton’s departure appears unrelated to the recent Greenbelt development controversy.
As the legislature prepares to return for the fall session, all eyes are on Premier Ford and the potential cabinet shuffle that may follow these departures.
