A recommendation was made during Bluewater Council last week to award the tender for the installation of a sidewalk on Bayfield Main Street South (Highway 21) from Cameron Street to the Foodland Plaza to Albeck Construction Inc. for $66,100.90 excluding HST.
The sidewalk design and agreement with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) were finalized, leading to the current tender process.
Two bids were received, with Albeck Construction providing the lowest bid that fits within the allocated budget. The tender went to Albeck Construction.
The estimated surplus for the project is approximately $28,855.72, and future maintenance costs will be factored into operating and capital budgets.
The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility in the Bayfield area, aligning with the community’s focus on public safety and health.
