Local wedding and portrait photographer Sandra Regier says that artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed her photography business in the past year.
Her journey into the world of AI began when she received a tempting offer for a free trial of AI photo editing software.
Over time, the AI became increasingly proficient, editing photos according to her unique style.
Regier explains that the more data she feeds into the AI, the more precise and efficient it becomes.
Editing a large project like a wedding, which previously consumed 12 to 16 hours of her time, now takes only three hours. Regier gains an entire workday, and the results remain distinctly her own, avoiding the generic appearance associated with automated editing.
Although people worry about automation replacing jobs, she says that while AI can edit and process images efficiently, it doesn’t understand the emotional significance of a moment or the personal connections within a photo.
