If you’re looking for something Halloween-y to do, mark your calendars for next Friday, (October 27), as the Owl Prowl returns to Morrison Dam Conservation Area, east of Exeter.
This year promises to be extra special as it’s happening for just one night, offering two exciting sessions for nature enthusiasts.
The event, hosted by Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA), promises a thrilling exploration of our nocturnal world, including the enigmatic owls and other night-dwelling creatures native to Ontario.
To make this event a roaring success, registration is a must, though it comes at no cost. Organizers do, however, encourage generous donations to the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation (ABCF) to support essential conservation education programs.
Cassie Greidanus, the Conservation Education Coordinator, invites participants to venture out and discover the hidden secrets of the night. She shares, “Be prepared to learn all about the night life happening when we are normally 036tucked into bed and discover the adaptations of our owls and the creatures with which they co-exist.”
What makes this Owl Prowl special is the opportunity it provides to connect with nature, listen to the calls of owls, and gain insights into the lives of nocturnal animals while contributing to conservation education.
This year, due to overwhelming interest, organizers are making room for up to 75 people in each session.
In case the weather doesn’t cooperate, the Owl Prowl rain date is set for Saturday. Don’t miss this chance to unravel the mysteries of the night and support the vital work of the ABCA.
For registration and more information about this exciting Owl Prowl, visit the Ausable Bayfield Conservation events page or reach out to Cassie Greidanus via email at cgreidanus@abca.ca or by phone at 519-235-2610 extension 262.
So, whether you’re a nature enthusiast, an owl aficionado, or just looking for a unique Halloween adventure, the Owl Prowl is the place to be on October 27th. Come and be part of this special night in the heart of Morrison Dam Conservation Area. Your support will ensure that the magic of the night continues to thrive for years to come.
