Education Minister Stephen Lecce says 100% of parents agree that students should stay in school. The comments come in the wake of the announcement that Public Elementary Teachers in the province have voted 95% in favour of strike action.
Lecce didn’t hide his frustration when speaking with reporters.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has said that a strike mandate will add pressure on the government to reach a contract deal with teachers at the bargaining table. Negotiations are set to continue this month.
Parents with kids in the Avon Maitland District School Board will no doubt be watching closely.
