Nonkes says that the answer to local labour shortages may be just beyond the horizon.
The growing demand for skilled workers in Huron County has many employers thinking outside the box.
Tonight (October 24th), the Local Immigration Partnership’s workshop is aimed at demystifying the process of bringing internationally trained workers to the region.
In collaboration with the Huron Chamber of Commerce, HC EcDev, Will Employment, and Community Futures Huron, the workshop looks to provide guidance to employers facing the complexities of international workforce recruitment.
Mark Nonkes, Local Immigration Partnership Manager expressed that employers frequently inquire about the procedures for bringing internationally trained workers to Huron County – a complex legal process that requires more than a little light paperwork.
Their workshop will bring legal professionals together at Blyth Memorial Hall tonight (Tuesday, October 24), from 5-7 pm.
This opportunity is open to all employers in the area – and Nonkes says that a variety of fields would benefit from this learning opportunity.
Nonkes believes that extending invitations to skilled midcareer professionals from abroad can help fill vacant positions in the area.
The event is free to attend, and there will be a cash bar along with food available. Those interested can register on Eventbrite under “International Workers in Huron County” or simply drop by the Blyth Memorial Hall.
