Events like the recent Lunch and Learn work not only to raise funds, but also educate the community about how those funds are put to work.
United Way Perth-Huron, is always setting the bar high when it comes to fundraising so that they can give back to the community.
This year they are looking to raise $2.5 million to go towards different local charities looking to make a big impact.
Manager of Community Development for South Huron, Michelle Millar says this year they are taking a bit of a different approach when it comes to their fundraising goals.
She says that this year has been hard for everyone in terms of money and inflation, that is why it is so important to donate to those in need.
Millar says that she is hoping fundraisers will bring the community together for a good cause no matter if you choose to donate or volunteer your time.
She says that while their goal is ambitious, she knows that the community is up to the task. For more information on where they’re at with their fundraising goals, head to perthhuron.unitedway.ca
