Combining a love of Halloween, and doing something good for the community, a group of young adults were going door to door in Exeter on Halloween asking for donations to the food bank.
Stephen Holmes, board member of the Cultural Collective, says that the group started trick or treating about seven years ago.
As a big lover of the spooky season, he found a way to combine his love of dressing up, with a worthy cause.
In recent years, the Cultural Collective has partnered with Centralia Faith Tabernacle for the initiative.
Despite being a smaller group than is usual, their dedication paid off, managing to fill a car to the brim with essential items. When asked about specific collection goals, Stephen’s said that every year, they’re content with whatever they receive, and just happy to have a good time together.
Stephen shared his thoughts on the importance of youth-led community service. He believes it offers an excellent opportunity for young individuals to meet like-minded peers, expand their social circles, and make a tangible impact on the lives of those in their community.
