The accident as seen on October 13th - the wagons on the rear of the tractor have since been removed.
The Municipality of Huron East finally issued an update yesterday about a tractor that collided with a building in Seaforth in mid-October.
A section of Main Street South in Seaforth has remained closed to vehicular traffic since the unfortunate accident on Friday, October 13 – and the tractor remains lodged in the building, awaiting a plan for it’s safe removal.
The Municipality is actively seeking the reopening of the road, but the situation presents unique challenges. Daily updates from the insurer have kept the municipality up to date as they have engaged a structural engineer to evaluate the building’s condition, and taken measures to secure the structure and protect it from further damage.

Damage to the building was visible at the time of the accident.
A partial demolition permit has been issued to facilitate brick removal for closer inspection and likely repairs, with a commitment to salvaging the heritage bricks.
In the coming week, a Designated Substances Survey and a Heritage Consultant report will be completed, providing crucial information to determine the best course of action.
Once the tractor involved in the accident is safely removed, and public safety concerns are addressed, the Municipality aims to reopen the roadway. However, this process will take time as experts evaluate the situation.
