Exeter is all set to usher in the holiday festivities with its annual Santa Claus Parade.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday, (November 18th), with the lineup starting at 5 PM and the parade kicking off at 6 PM. The route takes a journey down Huron Street, Main Street, and Victoria Street, finishing off with a turn toward the arena.
myFM sat down with Rob Ross, the Exeter BIA Manager, who shared some exciting details about this cherished community event.
The star of the show, Santa Claus, will be making a grand entrance, thanks to the Lions Club – and this year, he’s getting an upgrade!
Additionally, Mayor George Finch will be accompanied by the famous white squirrel in his pickup truck.
Rob emphasized the significance of the parade in uniting the community.
With the hope of seeing a few thousand attendees, he emphasized that hosting the event in November allows them to beat the worst of the inclement weather.
If you’re looking to put a float in, this year’s parade theme, “Winter Wonderland,” offers a rich backdrop for festive cheer – although Santa himself is, of course, the main attraction.
New to this year’s festivities is a sensory-friendly and low mobility area between Andrew and Huron Streets. This provides a comfortable viewing space free from bright lights and loud sounds, ensuring everyone can enjoy the magic of the parade.
