In an effort to bring comfort and community spirit during what can be a challenging season, Jessica’s House is hosting the Angel Tree celebration this Sunday, (November 19th), from 4-6pm.
At the celebration, participants are encouraged to fill out tags bearing the names of loved ones they’ll be missing this Christmas. These tags will adorn two Christmas trees, which Executive Director Tracy Snell says is a celebration of the lives of those who have left us.
Attendees can enjoy festive treats in the beautifully decorated yard illuminated with twinkling lights, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Jessica’s House aims to provide solace during the holiday season, recognizing that Christmas can be a particularly challenging time for those mourning the loss of a loved one.
The event not only offers a space for reflection but also provides an opportunity to reconnect with the staff at Jessica’s House if they’ve visited there in the past.
Tracy emphasized the importance of grief and bereavement support, highlighting the group and one-on-one services offered by Jessica’s House. Additionally, the organization will kick off “Hope for the Holidays” in early December, providing a supportive space for those who find the festive season particularly challenging.
The overarching hope is for people, whether directly connected to Jessica’s House or part of the broader community, to come together, share stories, and offer mutual support during the holiday season.
