Huron County OPP have charged a 26-year-old London resident with a staggering 17 offences after an incident in Grand Bend in mid-October.
The incident began when Lambton OPP officers alerted their counterparts in Huron County that a vehicle narrowly avoided colliding with an OPP cruiser in Grand Bend. Rather than stopping, the driver fled, prompting a pursuit.
The pursuit came to a dramatic end in Bayfield when the SUV collided with a parked car. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. A K-9 unit and Emergency Response Team members tracked down and arrested the suspect.
A wide spread of charges were issued, including impaired operation, flight from police, and dangerous operation, alongside traffic violations like running red lights in the pursuit.
