Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is hosting a workshop for rural landowners, to teach them about protecting their land, and local waterways.
The workshop is scheduled for tomorrow (November 28), from 7-9 pm at Thomas Hall in the Legacy Recreation Centre in Thedford. This session is designed to give landowners insights into various conservation projects, including tree planting, wetlands preservation, and cover crops.
Brooklyn Rau, Stewardship Technician says that alongside conservation staff, there will also be others sharing their experience.

Rau emphasized the significance of the workshop in addressing erosion control, a critical concern for agricultural fields. One way they do that is through cover crops.

Landowners will also learn about cost-share funding opportunities, financial and technical support.
Rau highlighted the site-specific nature of these projects, aligning with the unique needs of each property while contributing to environmental conservation – they work collaboratively with landowners to find projects that suit the needs of their specific property.

For those unable to attend, reaching out to ABCA directly is encouraged—they are eager to assist and hear from all interested landowners.
