A single-vehicle collision into a water hydrant in Bayfield has led to dangerous driving and impaired operation charges for a local.
On November 28th, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Charles Street near Chiniquy Street, a vehicle collided with a fire hydrant, leading to the response of Huron County OPP officers and the Bayfield Fire Department. Fortunately, the driver and three passengers emerged unscathed from the accident.
Following their response, the 44-year-old driver failed a breath test, and was charged with impaired operation.
However, the damaged hydrant caused flooding in a nearby residence. Remember, this holiday season, it’s important that everyone arrives at their destination safely – drive sober!
