December is a time for community celebration, but United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) is urging people to remember those struggling in Perth-Huron.
The campaign is 16% behind last year, facing increased needs.
Ryan Erb, UWPH’s executive director, said “There’s no doubt we’re feeling the effects of the uncertainty in the world right now, Just like everyone else, we are faced with needing more funds just to keep up with what our partners need to run their programs and for UWPH to continue working on our own initiatives addressing important local issues.”
Despite the challenges, UWPH positively impacts communities.
Last year, they helped over 25,000 people.
Erb is asking for support and for communities to rally around vulnerable people, donate, and create positive impacts for months to come.
UWPH is entirely local, making a positive impact in Perth-Huron through Connection Centres in Stratford, Exeter, and Wingham.
Our Urgent Needs Fund provides immediate financial support for rent arrears, winter clothes, groceries, and more.
The United Housing initiative addresses the local housing crisis, supporting over 40 local partners and services.
