The 2023/24 Festive RIDE campaign in the OPP’s West Region resulted in increased enforcement and charges. Across Southwestern Ontario, members of West Region’s 13 detachments conducted impaired driving checkpoints from November 16, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
Overall, there were 353 charges laid for impaired driving, up 75 from the 2022 campaign, 55 warn-range suspensions, 2446 issues stemming from a RIDE program which was an increase of 642 from 2022, and a total of 13,197 vehicles passed through a RIDE program this year.
