A group called Huron Newcomer Support is looking for people to join them in helping newcomers settle in Huron County.
They started when people from Ukraine needed help due to the war in their country. They’re having a meeting on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at 57 Napier Street in Goderich.
They want to choose leaders and get volunteers. This started in 2022 when the county had meetings about helping people from Ukraine.
Many people wanted to help with housing, jobs, and other issues. Since then, many Ukrainian families arrived. Volunteers are crucial in helping them with homes, jobs, English, and more.
They’re making a group to help more newcomers in the future.
They need leaders and general volunteers for different roles like language help and transportation.
