Although many think of Lambton Shores as a summer destination, the municipality is hard at work all year around ensuring that their community remains a vibrant place to visit and live.
Looking back at 2023, Mayor Doug Cook highlighted several achievements.
The community also maintained its Blue Flag beaches status for the sixth consecutive year and received substantial community support for a new community center in Grand Bend.
Mayor Cook also mentioned the successful implementation of a short-term rental bylaw, looking to address challenges posed by the growing industry.
Looking at challenges last year and looking ahead to the next, Mayor Cook said that there is one that sticks out as a major one for him.
He also acknowledged workforce challenges but highlighted the success of Huron Shores Area Transit, which brought in workers from out of town, positively impacting local businesses.
Mayor Cook discussed several upcoming projects for 2024.
He expressed optimism about the community’s future, anticipating another busy summer in 2024.
