At last night’s (Monday, February 5th) South Huron Council meeting, the Municipality made the decision to embark on an official plan review. The recommendation was met with unanimous agreement from council members.
The initial steps include a special meeting, slated for March 27, which will provide a platform for open discussion regarding revisions to the plan, with active participation invited from the public.
Councilor Aaron Neeb underscored the necessity of this review, highlighting concerns about the current housing landscape.
Huron County Planner Celina Whaling-Rae, provided insights into anticipated changes stemming from provincial policy alterations.
Councilor Marissa Vaughan did flag the timing of public engagement sessions – with one proposed to follow in the fall.
As South Huron prepares to shape its future development landscape, the upcoming special meeting promises to be a crucial step in fostering inclusive and sustainable growth strategies.
