Ontario drivers will soon enjoy a hassle-free process as Premier Doug Ford announced plans to automate the annual registration of license plates. Ford revealed this development during a Tuesday morning press conference, stating that the renewal will occur automatically. This move comes as a response to the increasing number of expired plates on Ontario roads.
The initiative builds upon the Ford government’s previous decision to eliminate fees linked to annual plate registration in 2022. While Ford couldn’t provide an exact timeline for implementation, he assured that it will happen “extremely soon.”
