A travel advisory has been issued in Huron and Perth Counties as Environment Canada warns of adverse weather conditions expected to hit the region this afternoon.
According to forecasts, strong northwesterly winds coupled with heavy snowfall are anticipated to sweep across the area.
Residents are advised to brace for 5-10 centimeters of snowfall accumulation. Additionally, wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are projected to persist into the night, before gradually subsiding by Friday morning – which will contribute to poor visibility at times.
There is potential for broken tree branches and localized power outages due to the high winds – residents are urged to exercise caution, stay informed about the evolving weather conditions, and consider adjusting their travel plans accordingly.
