Local property owners have a chance to make sure that their well is up to par – the Kirkton-Woodham Optimist Club is hosting a Water Wise event in partnership with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority..
Bottles for water testing are available at the Kirkton Library, Kirkton Market, and Kirkton Post Office – or you can pick one up at the Optimist Breakfast this Sunday.
Then on February 27th, you can bring a sample of your well water to the community centre from 4:30-6:30pm.
Water testing is key to ensuring the integrity of your well – in this area, only about 3% of wells are tested regularly.
So far, since August of 2023, Five Water Wise events (in Dublin, Monkton, Goderich and Londesboro), have seen 214 water sampling bottles returned to Huron Perth Public Health for testing.
