Huron County OPP have charged a resident from the London area with several criminal offenses.
Around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20th, an off-duty Huron County OPP officer in Exeter, received information about a shoplifting incident at a business on Thames Road.
The officer, followed and arrested the suspect.
The accused was taken to the Huron OPP detachment, and stolen items worth over $750 were recovered.
As a result, a 33-year-old from the London area with no fixed address, was charged.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody, with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich.
The suspect was charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Resist Peace Officer
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
