The Rural Housing Information System (RHIS), a collaborative effort by the Rural Ontario Institute (ROI), Western Ontario Wardens Caucus (WOWC), and South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation (SCOR EDC), is now live in rural Western Ontario municipalities.
RHIS, originally developed with the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus (EOWC), expands its reach to tackle housing challenges across rural Western Ontario and Ontario’s South Central Region.
The system offers demographic trends, pricing insights, available land for development, incentives, and more, empowering informed decision-making for builders and planners.
This initiative, funded through CMHC’s Housing Supply Challenge and Ontario’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs – Rural Economic Development Program, underscores a commitment to sustainable rural communities.
