As we move closer to the warmer seasons, tourism season will once again be in full swing.
Huron County’s 2023 Tourism Annual Report was presented to council by economic development officer Rick Sickinger last week. (March 20th) and according to the report, Huron County is seeing some pretty impressive tourism numbers.
Sickinger says while people visit Huron County from all over, most of the visitors we’ve been seeing have all been from the GTA region.
He also mentioned that about 19 percent of visitors we see have been coming from the U-S.
The county’s website saw a big spike in page views and visits last year as well. The most popular offerings include information about beaches, events, holiday pages, wineries and breweries, and accommodations.
That online presence is also expanding on social media through the county’s Ontario’s West Coast Facebook and Instagram accounts, where Sickinger says the county is very active and posting almost daily.
The county also has an e-newsletter locals seem to really enjoy, providing information about events across Huron County.
