South Huron Council is considering a significant increase in building permit application fees as part of a broader user fee review currently underway.
A public meeting was held earlier this week where council learned a 51 percent increase over 2 years is required in order to break even.
Katrina Robinson from Robinson Carpentry spoke before council, saying builders and contractors she’s spoken with are concerned.
Councillor Ted Oke had this suggestion to help ease the burden.
The issue will be dealt with by Committee of the Whole on April 29th.
