This Saturday, the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter will be bursting with local artisans at Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron’s Little Craft Show. With 47 vendors showcasing their wares, the event promises to be a haven for those seeking unique gifts and treasures, just in time for Mother’s Day.
Angie Steckle, Fund Development Coordinator says that the event will host a wide variety of wares, ranging from hand-sewn clothing and pet accessories to gourmet treats and artisanal woodcraft.
The $3 admission fee directly benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters, funding programs aimed at enriching the lives of local youth. From mentorship initiatives like Go Girls and Game On to weekly group sessions known as Big Bunch, the organization empowers young individuals to thrive and become active contributors to their community.
As the Little Craft Show enters its fourth year, it continues to evolve, offering new experiences and opportunities for both attendees and vendors alike. Steckle encouraged visitors to come with an open mind, ready to discover the array of talents on display and perhaps even consider volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Reflecting on the broader impact of their work, Steckle underscored the importance of positive role models in shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
For those eager to attend, cash is recommended for purchases, including the bake sale and penny table (which will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters). With doors opening at 9 a.m. and festivities continuing until 3 p.m., there’s ample time to explore, shop, and support a worthy cause.
