The Huron Tract Land Trust Conservancy (HTLTC) is officially kicking off construction on their pedestrian walkway leading to the Bayfield River Flats Natural Area.
The project aims to provide a safer and more sustainable route for visitors while safeguarding the area’s ecological integrity.
With a construction cost of approximately $70,000, a community-driven fundraising campaign is extremely close to it’s goal. However, there remains a $5,000 funding gap, prompting a renewed call for support from the community. Donations, eligible for charitable receipts, can be made via the Bayfield River Flats web page.
The Bayfield River Flats Natural Area, managed by BRVTA and owned by HTLTC, has long been cherished by the community, with its protection facilitated by generous donations. The upcoming walkway will eliminate the need for vehicular access from Bayfield, offering pedestrians a direct path to enjoy the natural area.
