Lambton Public Health is reminding residents with private wells to regularly test their water supply to ensure that it is safe to drink. Recent high-water levels, flood conditions, and saturated grounds could allow harmful
bacteria to enter the drinking water, rendering it unsafe for consumption. Bacteria testing and water sampling kits are available for free. Pick-up and drop-off at Lambton Public Health in Point Edward, Charlotte Eleaner Englehart Hospital in Petrolia, and London Public Health Lab on Commissioners Road.
For more information on sampling and testing of well water, contact LPH at 519-383-8331 or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.
