Almost $60,000 is being invested in community facilities in Stratford and St. Mary’s
The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream will see the money directed toward the infrastructure of the Three Rivers YMCA locations in Stratford and St. Marys.
The funding injection was announced on Monday (April 29th) by MPP Matthew Rae – he underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring accessible and inclusive recreational spaces for all community members – but especially for the elderly, and those with living with disabilities.
“This adaptive and accessible fitness equipment at both the Stratford and St. Marys YMCA locations will ensure everyone in our rural communities can remain active,” said Rae.
Jay Colquhoun, Operational Manager for Stratford and St. Marys YMCA, expressed gratitude for the support from OTF, highlighting its role in expanding access to inclusive fitness options.

“We’re grateful for OTF’s support to increase the accessible fitness options for seniors, those living with disabilities and chronic conditions,” said Colquhoun. “This funding will ensure that we can provide more inclusive services to members of our communities, helping them to reach their individual health goals safely.”
