A 20-year-old driver was charged with speeding in the Municipality of South Huron yesterday afternoon.
The driver was clocked at an alarming 132 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone – and OPP took to the social media platform X to make it clear, the charges were “not worth it” for the driver.
Upon being stopped by the authorities, the driver offered a common but concerning excuse, stating, “I was not really paying attention.”
The driver now faces a court appearance and charges laid against them.
Additionally, the vehicle involved was impounded for a duration of 14 days, and the driver’s license was suspended for a period of 30 days.
The message from law enforcement is clear: the risks associated with speeding far outweigh any perceived benefits.
